Event: Holy Hikes + SF Baykeeper Coastal Cleanup

Coastal Cleanup Day

Baykeeper is hosting their annual beach cleanup at India Basin Shoreline Park on Saturday, September 21, 2019, to target the serious trash problem that disproportionately affects San Francisco’s eastern shoreline. California Coastal Cleanup Day is the state’s largest single effort to remove the debris that has accumulated on beaches and inland shorelines over the past year, bringing tens of thousands of volunteers out annually to protect the wildlife and habitat that can be badly damaged by trash pollution. Holy Hikes will join SF Baykeeper for the clean-up and offer a Holy Eucharist in the midst of it all.

When: The cleanup runs from 9am to Noon on Saturday, September 21

Where: India Basin Shoreline Park is located in San Francisco’s Bayview/Hunters Point neighborhood and is a thriving recreational destination in the community.

We encourage participants to carpool or take public transportation. Limited parking is available in the park, and fills early. Nearby street parking is available in the neighborhood. The park is located at Hunters Point Boulevard and Hawes, and is accessible by MUNI lines 19 and 44. Note: There are two entrances to India Basin Shoreline Park at Hunters Point Boulevard — Look for the park entrance with the blue Baykeeper flag and the white, horizontal gate.

Who: All ages welcome. This is family-friendly event.
