Holy Hikes Chapters
The mission of Holy Hikes has always been to work towards restoring Communion with all of Creation. Holy Hikes started in 2010 in the Episcopal Diocese of California, however we know this is not the only place where people either are worshipping or longing to worship God alongside the rest of Creation in its constant and unending hymn to the Creator. Since then Holy Hikes has expanding into a network of ministries from coast-to-coast committed to this common mission. See below for a listing of our current chapters…
Since 2010 and having held dozens of outdoor liturgical hikes we have learned a great deal of best practices in the areas of: promotion/marketing, inclusivity of children and elders, preparing and offering liturgies outdoors, insurance/finances, practical things like vessels and vestments, picking locations, and everyday minutia. Holy Hikes is committed to helping our chapters flourish.
Local chapters are given authorized, branded Holy Hikes names and logos, counseling and support on best practices, ongoing personal support, and in the past (depending on our financial resources in a given year) we’ve provided chapter leaders with books, scholarships, and micro-grants to support their partnerships with local waterkeepers and environmental nonprofits.
PLEASE NOTE: We temporarily are *not* accepting new chapter applications for the remainder of 2021. Please check back in 2022.
CHAPTER DUES: we have a tiered model for chapter dues to allow chapters to form and build local support. First year: $120; Subsequent Years: $240. Chapter Dues help support this website, promotion of Holy Hikes, and resources we provide to our chapters.
